Studio

The studio consists of three rooms - a control room and two live rooms.

The live rooms are isolated from each other, and have a window separating them - enabling musicans to see each other whilst performing.

The smaller live room has been acoustically treated to give very little reverberance, useful for recording any type of instrument without room character. This makes an excellent vocal recording studio for song based recording or for voice over recording.

The larger live room features variable acoustics, which enables the reverberant character of the studio to be drastically changed, depending on the type of recording required. For example, if a very live drum sound is required, the studio can be quickly re-configured to acomplish this. If a whole band is being recorded, the room can be set up to give very little reflections, which vastly improves seperation of instruments on the recording. The room can be subtly tuned to a particular song or instrument. Experimenting to find the correct acoustic character is quick and easy.

Below is an mp3 of drums recorded in the main live room using no EQ or compression. Each bar is a different recording with the room in a different configuration. This was edited together to give a demonstration of how much the reverberation in the room can be changed.
